I have a 2005 Casino natural finish, buyed in a "buying and selling" dealer like a "japan pre-elitist Casino" at the end of 2007. Hi this my first post, greets for all.:-) I still like my standard Epi's, but I have no trouble seeing, feeling, and hearing the difference between them and the Elitist models. The Elitist has a Tunonmatic bridge mounted on a nicer base.Īnd then there are less functional yet more costly aesthetic bonuses such as the more ornate neck at the body joint, higher quality binding, the finish, etc. The Elitist has AAA flamed maple back/sides.īone nut on the Elitist versus plastic on the standard. The pickups and electronics are of higher quality (although I still swapped out for better on my Broadway). The Elitist fretboard is ebony versus the standard's rosewood. The Elitist has a carved, solid spruce top versus the pressed laminate on the standard. I haven't owned either version of the Casino, but will use the Broadway as a reference.Ī couple of differences between the Elitist and Standard Broadway models are.Ī 5-piece neck (maple/rosewood/maple/rosewood/maple) on the Elitist with no scarf joint as compared to a one piece with a scarf joint on the standard model. There is definitely a difference that is worth the price difference in my opinion. I've owned a couple of Elitist guitars and several Korean/Chinese Epiphones as well.
